A behavioral health technician is a medical professional who helps treat patients with behavioral or mental health issues. They work with patients who have a variety of conditions, including: substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, physical or emotional abuse, mental instability, dementia, and psychosis. Behavioral health technicians work with psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses and provide direct care to patients. They are also responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
