To be eligible to graduate with a degree, diploma, or certificate from Coastal Pines Technical College, a student must satisfactorily complete the program of study in which he/she is enrolled with a program grade point average of 2.0.
A student’s academic record will be evaluated by the Registrar's Office for any and all credentials earned to determine if graduation requirements have been met. If a student’s enrollment has not been continuous since initial matriculation to the college, his/her record will be evaluated for graduation based on the catalog in effect at the time of readmission.
Before graduation, it is the student’s responsibility to submit their Graduation Application and complete the Graduate Survey. Students who submit their Graduation Application by the posted deadline are guaranteed a pre-audit of their program of study prior to the end of the term.
To be eligible for a degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Complete the courses as required by the course catalog in the term you were admitted.
- Be in good academic standing, have a graduation grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or at least a “C” in all courses that apply toward graduation. The letter grade of D (60-69) will be awarded if earned, but will not count toward course completion.
- Complete a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) of the coursework required for a program at Coastal Pines Technical College.
- Satisfy all financial obligations to the College and be free of any holds on your academic record.
- Complete the Graduation Application, once you are registered for your last course(s), EVEN if you do not plan on participating in the graduation ceremony. There is no charge to receive your degree, diploma, or certificate of credit; however, you must apply to receive your award
Once the Graduation Application form is submitted and processed, an email will be sent to the email address provided on the Application. The email will confirm that your application was received. Please check your student email address for additional information, dates, and reminders. Students must apply for graduation and meet all program requirements in order to receive their Award(s).
The Graduation Grade Point average calculated includes only those courses required for graduation. When a course is taken more than once, the final or highest grade will be used in calculating the grade point average for graduation. A 2.0 grade point average is required for graduation, and the student must be in good standing with the college. The letter grade of D (60-69) will be awarded if earned, but will not satisfy graduation requirements.
There is no charge to receive a degree, diploma, or certificate of credit; however, you must apply in order to have your award printed.
