Transient Student
Coastal Pines Technical College students desiring to take a course(s) at another accredited postsecondary institution must have prior approval from the CPTC Registrar’s Office and be in good standing. It is the student's responsibility to apply to the institution he or she wishes to attend as a transient student and have a transcript sent to CPTC at the end of the semester for the grade to be issued as a transferable grade. Only grades of "C" or better are accepted as transferable grades.
If the transient status is not approved, courses may NOT be eligible for transfer credit.
A student must complete at least 25% of their total credit hours within a specific program of study at Coastal Pines Technical College to be eligible to receive a technical certificate of credit, diploma, or degree from the college.
Financial Aid
Please check with financial aid before applying as a Transient student. If you are receiving PELL, which is federally funded assistance to help pay for classes, you can only receive PELL from one institution per semester; therefore, you will be required to pay for the class(s) at the Host institution, and CPTC will process your award at the end of the semester.
HOPE Funds can be awarded at both Institutions, not Pell.
Please check with financial aid for more information concerning your financial aid at FinAid@coastalpines.edu
